As someone who has struggled with allowing my emotions to get the best of me (I’m sure that you can relate), I’ve learned that until you learn how to override and respond to your emotions instead of reacting to everything that happens to you then you’ll be going around the same mountain again and again without seeing any significant changes in your life.

Been there, done that and got the t-shirt.

I wholeheartedly believe that God will allow circumstances, people and storms to come into our lives to test us.

Why?

Because in order for you to experience the fullness of your destiny, you are going to be met with some serious challenges at every level.

So if you keep allowing the same schemes and strategies of your opponent to distract you or discourage you or get you to flip out in anger then I’m sorry my dear but you’re not ready to move on to the next level.

We all have an opponent who does not want to see you succeed. And that opponent will do anything in his power to steal and destroy all the good things that God wants to do in your life. Your opponent knows you very well and that opponent will keep pushing the same buttons until you get “hip to the game” and choose to respond differently.

We can oftentimes think that we have no part to play in what we see God do in our lives but we do.

Essentially…you can limit what you see God do in your life simply because you have not developed the emotional, faith and character muscles you need in order to effectively fulfill your destiny. God does this out of his love for you…he wants you to be ready to maintain what he has for you.

What if you decided to see every opposition that you are facing right now as a test waiting for you to pass?

What if you decided that enough is enough? Make the bold decision that you are not going to allow the same people, circumstances or things to distract, frustrate, anger or discourage you.

Don’t go thinking that you can do this in your own strength because you’ll eventually fail again. The key is to learn to tap into the divine living within you; asking God to be your strength where you are weak.

Instead of going off at the mouth with that co-worker, ex, or family member…use that opportunity to respond differently – applying patience or love.

Instead of looking at your bank account and allowing that to discourage your dreams…use that as an opportunity to use your faith that God will provide.

What your opposition wants most is your mind. Your opposition wants you to believe the worst. Your opposition wants to you to look at your circumstances and fall into self-pity getting you not to trust God. He wants you to believe the lies that nothing good is going to happen to you or that everyone else is happy while you’re suffering.

God is not the author of those thoughts.

One strategy to win is to use the power in your words to override your emotions. Another is to believe and trust God in spite of what you see. You can’t keep allowing opposition to torment you…allowing everything to steal your joy and kill your faith.

If this is happening then I’m sorry my love but you are failing the test…

I know you don’t want to stay where you are. I know you want the desires of your heart. I know you want your money changed. I know you want to meet the man of your dreams. I know you want to see your goals realized.

You have a part to play in this thing…

Make a promise to yourself that you want what you desire more than you want to react to your circumstances.

Everything you are going through right now is just a test.

Pass!
