When you wake up in the morning, what are the first thoughts that are on your mind? What do you hope for, for your day?

Or better yet. What are you hoping for currently in your life? Are you hoping for a new career opportunity? Are you hoping for your boyfriend to propose to you? Are you hoping for financial independence? Are you hoping for your health to be restored? Are you hoping for a positive pregnancy test?

We all have something that we are hoping for or should at least live our lives with something to look forward to. I’m not referring to being ungrateful for what we already have; however, we should be content with where we are while hoping for whatever it is that we are hoping for to happen. Otherwise, what would life look like without hope?

That is a life I would not want to live and I hope that you would not want to either.

Sometimes we may feel that we have to be practical in our hopes. I find that interesting because I am learning that our fears loved to come disguised as practicality. As a result, we put on the limits to our hopes and expectations. I was browsing through Thesaurus.com and one synonym used to describe the word limit is “bitter end.”

“Wow! Bitter end?” I thought.

A light bulb went on. When we limit our hopes, we are essentially giving our hopes a bitter end. I don’t know about you but I do not want my expectations to end in bitterness.

Our lives are a composition of the choices that we make and our choices are directly influenced by our thoughts. If you think with limits, then those thoughts will determine the words that you choose to speak. There is such a creative power in our words and our words create our world.

Take a good look at your thoughts. Are you putting any limits on your hopes?

If you are, I want you to know this fact. We tend to attract what we believe. If you believe that you are worthless, you will attract people who will treat you like you are worthless. If you believe that the day will be a bad day, then you will more than likely have a bad day. If you believe that you are not qualified for the opportunity, then you will behave as though you are unqualified and forfeit the opportunity which will go knocking on the next person’s door. If you believe you will never get out of debt, then you will find yourself always in debt.

Bottom line is that you will attract what you believe.

I’m not sure if I told you this but for the past few weeks I have implemented this new “mantra.” I guess that is what I will call it for a lack of a better word. Well, every morning I tell myself and believe that something great will happen to me and through me for the day. I can be selfish and simply focus on solely something good happening to me, but I choose to think of how I can be a blessing to someone else. I am not kidding when I say that great things have happened to me and through EACH AND EVERY DAY since I’ve implemented this mantra and believed for it. It is one thing to say something but it’s another to believe for it.

I do not know what it is that you may be hoping for. Perhaps you may have lost hope. If you have, I want you to grab it back and start to believe without any limits for whatever it is that you are hoping for. Start to believe for your success, your financial independence, your new opportunity, your improved health, your new house or the restoration of a severed relationship. Whatever it is that you are hoping for I want you to start believing and preparing for it!

I believe that we face an adversary in this world who wants us to live in hostage to fear, without hope, and with limits on the possibilities of our lives. The truth of the matter is that if you are not in control of your mind then you are going to have a tough time being in control of your life. Our thoughts create our words which ultimately shape our actions, character and destiny.

The choice is yours if you will choose a destiny of greatness or one of defeat. Which one will you choose to believe for?
