Why do you shut the door behind you? Or when someone asks you to shut the door, what’s the purpose behind them asking you to do so?
Because whatever is going inside of that room is private – normally you are trying to protect whatever is happening from outside influences or distractions. You want to keep what’s going in that room private.
Well, what if I told you that it’s time to shut some doors in your life.
What do I mean?
Shut the door to anything that can have a negative influence on whatever you’re working on in private. It can be your goals, emotional healing, building your faith or working towards your dreams.
Oftentimes we leave the door open allowing whoever and whatever to come into our sacred spaces influencing us – even if we notice or not. What you allow yourself to be exposed to can and will influence you. That’s why it’s important for you to have a filter ready to block out anything or anyone that is going to distract or negatively influence you.
Perhaps you have to “shut the door” on some people in your life. You know the people I’m talking about – those people who are in close quarters to you whose own limited beliefs and wounded ways of thinking try to distract you from believing for your best. Just because they’ve had failures in relationships, finances, or goals does not mean that you will.
I’m so over seeing so many of us walking around with a poverty and lack based mentality which is obvious in how someone speaks. “They have money.” “They’re rich so they can do that.” “They’re (insert opposite race here) so you know they have money.”
Umm…no!! You were created in the image of God and you have God living on the inside of you! There is NO reason you should not believe that you cannot have a life of abundance, success and wealth too!
Maybe you have to “shut the door” to social media. There’s so many great things about social media but then there’s so much negativity being spewed out left and right. There’s nothing wrong with deactivating your account or deleting the apps off your phone if it’s negatively influencing the way you think or better yet if it leaves you constantly comparing your journey.
Instead of taking hours scrolling, use that time to focus on what’s going on inside your room. It can be your healing room, getting-your-money-right room, focused on your business growing room or finish writing your book room.
Finally, we all need to “shut the door” on feelings of doubt, insecurity, worry and fear. I’m certain that those feelings are stopping whatever it is that you want to happen in your sacred room from actually happening. This happens with time and practice when you decide to use the words in your mouth to come against how you feel. (You can grab a copy of my free e-book below where I show you how to do so)
Whatever it is that you need to shut the door on, it’s not worth whatever you’re birthing inside of your room. Shut the door and protect what’s yours!
